Getting started
How do I create an account and buy?
Create an account on buypalletstock.com, then sign in whenever you want to buy. Find a load, click Buy Now, review your order, and place it. One login per company.
Why does my new account need approval?
We review every new account — including any tax-exemption certificate you submit — before you can pay. We aim to approve new accounts within 1 business day, and we'll email you as soon as it's done.
Can I order before my account is approved?
Yes. You can place an order right away so you don't lose a good load. Your order shows as pending, and we hold the load and price for you. As soon as your account is approved, we'll email you so you can log back in and pay your invoice.
How long will you hold my load?
We hold a load for 2 business days from the moment you place your order, whether or not your account has been approved yet. Business days are Monday through Friday, Eastern Time, excluding standard U.S. holidays. We'll send you a reminder before the hold ends. If the order isn't paid by then, the load goes back on the site for other buyers.
Paying
How do I pay?
Pay right on the site at checkout — no emailed payment link to hunt for. Choose ACH (bank transfer) at no extra cost, or pay by card. If you pay by card, a card processing fee is added, and you'll see the total, including that fee, before you confirm.
When do I get my invoice?
You'll see your invoice in your account, and we'll email you a copy as soon as your payment is submitted. If you paid by ACH, the invoice shows "payment processing" until the bank transfer clears, then we send you an updated copy marked paid.
How long does an ACH payment take?
ACH transfers can take several business days to clear. We'll show you the status in your account.
What if my payment doesn't go through?
We'll let you know right away so you can pay again. If a payment is returned or reversed after your order, you remain responsible for the amount owed, as described in our Terms.
I have a charge account with LumberLink. Can I use it here?
If you're an existing LumberLink customer with a charge account, let us know when you sign up, and we'll turn it on after approval. Then, at checkout, you can choose Pay now or Charge to my account. Charge-account orders are billed on the terms shown on your invoice, and we confirm the order before it ships. Charge accounts are offered at LumberLink's discretion.
Pickup and delivery
How does delivered vs. pickup pricing work?
The price you see reflects the option you select — pickup (FOB) or delivered. Delivered prices include freight, which we arrange. If we ever find a mismatch between your selection and the price charged, we'll correct it before your order ships. For very long distances we may offer a freight quote or pickup only instead of an automatic delivered price.
How does pickup work?
After your order is confirmed, we email you a Bill of Lading. It tells the mill your load is released and shows the pickup location and contact. It doesn't show prices. If we release your load before your payment has fully cleared, the Bill of Lading will say so.
Who handles delivery?
We do. For delivered orders, we arrange freight and share the delivery details with our freight partner. Delivery dates and times are estimates.
Taxes
I'm tax-exempt — what do I need to provide?
Upload a valid resale or exemption certificate when you set up your account. We review every certificate before your account is treated as tax-exempt. Until we've reviewed and approved it, applicable sales tax is charged. Sending a certificate doesn't automatically make an account exempt.
When will I see the sales tax on my order?
Tax, if any, is shown before you pay. If your account is still awaiting approval, we'll calculate it when your account is approved.
Problems and policies
What if I'm not happy with a load?
Send us photos within 48 hours of delivery and we'll work with the supplying mill toward a fair resolution — refund, credit, or replacement as appropriate. Quality issues are between us and our mill network; they're never the buyer's problem to sort out.
What if a load I ordered becomes unavailable?
Occasionally a load may become unavailable after it's ordered. If that happens, we'll let you know right away and issue a full refund if you've already paid.
What if a listing has a mistake in it?
We do our best to keep listings accurate, but mistakes can happen. LumberLink isn't liable for errors in a listing, and we reserve the right to decline to list any product.
What if there's a processing issue with my order?
Occasionally an order may need to be corrected or delayed due to a system processing issue on our end. If that happens, we'll reach out right away to make it right.
How does the RFQ (Request for Quote) list work?
Submitting an RFQ posts your general demand (state, species/grade, size) publicly — never your company name or exact location. Quotes you receive are estimates, not final offers — LumberLink will follow up directly to finalize any transaction. Quotes are not guaranteed, and LumberLink may remove an RFQ at any time.
Does LumberLink take a cut?
LumberLink's commission is built into every listed and delivered price you see — there's no separate fee added at checkout for it. We currently target a commission of up to 4.5% on transactions facilitated through this platform.
What are LumberLink's liability limits?
LumberLink's liability is limited as described in our full Terms & Conditions. We work hard to get every transaction right, but by using this platform you agree to those limits.
What happens if something outside your control disrupts an order?
If something outside our control — like severe weather, a mill shutdown, or a major shipping disruption — delays or prevents an order, we won't be considered in breach of these terms. We'll notify you and issue a refund if appropriate.
Your information
What information do you collect, and what do you do with it?
We collect the information you provide when you create an account or place an order — name, company, contact details, delivery address, and any tax-exemption documents — to set up your account and process your orders. Payments are handled by Stripe, and we don't store your full card or bank account numbers. We may also use your email to let you know about new services or ventures we launch. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time; you'll still receive order-related communications.
What law governs these terms?
These terms are governed by Kentucky law, and any disputes will be handled in Kentucky courts.
